PLAYERS AND PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Our coaches, trainers and Board of Directors hope that this will be an enjoyable year for you and your family.  As part of the registration process, we want to insure that you are fully aware and understand the commitments TSYSA make to you and what our expectations and obligations from you as a member of TSYSA.  Please read, sign and return to your coach or appropriate official.

1. I pledge to be dressed and ready to participate in practices and games per the directions of my coach.
2. I pledge to work hard to develop my physical and emotional skill. Winners are people who make maximum effort, continue to learn and improve, and do not worry about or fear making mistakes. I understand that mistakes are an inevitable part of any game and that people learn from their mistakes. I understand that children are born with different abilities and that the true measure is not how I compare to other players but how I am doing in comparison to my best effort.
3. I pledge to “Honor the Game.” I understand the importance of setting a good example for the team, club, and my family. No matter what others may do, I will show respect for all involved in the sport. I will display at all time with respect for: Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and one’s self. I understand officials make mistakes. If the official makes a “bad” call against my team, I will Honor the Game and be silent!
4. I pledge to refrain from yelling out negative criticism to my teammates during games and practices. I understand that it is the coach’s job to instruct and teach players. I will always support and encourage my team.
5. During games, I will show sportsmanship and individual responsibility in support of my team in both success and defeat.
6. I understand that TSYSA will provide training and coaching opportunities to participate in league, tournaments, and cup games.
7. I will read FYSA Code of Ethics and agree to abide by the requirements. I will conduct myself in accordance with TSYSA, FYSA, USYSA, USSF, and FIFA rules at all times or will be subject to disciplinary action.

*I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at all times.
*I will always remember that soccer is an opportunity to learn and have fun.
*I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and expect everyone to refrain from their use at all soccer training and games.
*I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players have talents and weaknesses the same as I do.
*I will treat my coaches, other players and coaches, game officials, other administrators, and fans with respect at all times, regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities, and I will expect to be treated accordingly.
*I will concentrate on playing soccer, always giving my best effort.
*I will play by the rules at all times.
*I will at all times control my temper, resisting the temptation to retaliate
*My conduct during competition towards play of the game and all games and all officials shall be in accordance with appropriate behavior, and in accordance with FIFA’S laws of the game, and in adherence to FYSA rules.
*While traveling, I will conduct myself and be a credit to my team and myself.
*A player cannot be cut from a team after he/she is registered to that team unless he/she has exhibited conduct-requiring dismissal, without prior consent from the BOD. If requested by the player and/or parent, a hearing must be held for any involuntary player release.
*Alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco products and unauthorized prescription drugs shall not be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any time at the field and/or game complex.

I acknowledge receipt of this contract and have reviewed the requirements to represent TSYSA as a player. I also understand the failure to comply with any part of this contract may result in my suspension from the team and possible disciplinary action leading up to and including suspension from the club and placement in ‘not in good standing’ with TSYSA and FYSA.
