FAIR PLAY RULES:

soccersign

What is Fair Play? It's a set of rules and conditions by which players, parents, spectators, and coaches must abide. These rules and conditions are issued by the Florida Youth Soccer Association, of which Tarpon Springs Youth Soccer is a member. Fair Play means: Displaying good sportsmanship before, during and after games. Displaying good sportsmanship before, during and after practices. Treating players, coaches, officials and other parents with respect.

Player abuse will not be tolerated.
This includes both physical and verbal abuse. Coaches, parents, and spectators are all responsible for displaying appropriate behavior. As a parent, your first priority should be to support and encourage your child. It’s not your job to coach from the stands. It is actually a violation of league rules to do so. Coaches are the only ones who are allowed to give brief instruction during a game. This avoids confusion and frustration on the part of the players, and increases their enjoyment of the game.

Abusing the game official(s) will not be tolerated.
Currently, we have a severe nationwide shortage of referees. In particular, referees ages 20 to 40 are in short supply. This is a direct result of our young referees quitting before they get into their twenties. Abusive coaches and spectators make the choice an easy one. Please don't contribute to the problem. Be a positive example for your kids!

Definitions of Abuse

Abuse includes, but is not limited to:
* Physical assault. Either upon the official, or his personal property.
* Directing insults, or derogatory comments at the officials.
* Making obscene gestures directed at an official.
* Threatening, or otherwise attempting to intimidate an official with words or actions.
These actions are considered referee abuse regardless of whether they occur before, during, or after a game.

Possible consequences of Abuse include, but are not limited to:
* Ejection from the field.
* Forfeiture of the game.
* Suspension from attending further games (home or away)
* In the case of repeat offenders, the offender's child or children may also be banned from the league.

So remember,

Fair Play - It's not just a nice idea, it's the law! j039578002
